 and edited by Sue Mackay

Additonal Information

This is pre 1820 information mainly taken from actual images of parish registers held at the London Metropolitan Archives, Westminster Archives, West Yorkshire Archives, Manchester Central Library, non-conformist registers at the National Archives at Kew (RG4), online parish registers at CityArk or from original images at Family Search. I have also included some information from original images of Scottish old parish registers and English parish records which I have personally researched. Where reference is made to the London Gazette, the full version can be downloaded from http://www.london-gazette.co.uk/

Martha Smith and James Smith, twin children of John and Sarah SAYNOR of Sheffield, born October 22nd 1811 and christened November 24 in Milford Haven, Pembrokeshire

Elizabeth, James and Martha appear on the Settler Returns under the name SENIOR, step children of James RICHARDSON

Sarah CHARLTON, whose second husband was James RICHARDSON, was the sister of Mary CHARLTON, wife of William Senior DENTON. John CHARLTON witnessed the marriage of Sarah and James, and the marriage of William and Mary was witnessed by John and Harriet CHARLTON (the marriage of John CHARLTON to Harriet TOMES on 11 October 1809 in Sheffield Cathedral was witnessed by Mary CHARLTON) so I think John was a brother of Sarah and Mary. The following baptisms seem plausible, even although it would make Sarah and Mary a year or two older than declared on the settler returns.
