Additonal Information

This is pre 1820 information mainly taken from actual images of parish registers held at the London Metropolitan Archives, Westminster Archives, West Yorkshire Archives, Manchester Central Library, non-conformist registers at the National Archives at Kew (RG4), online parish registers at CityArk or from original images at Family Search. I have also included some information from original images of Scottish old parish registers and English parish records which I have personally researched. The will of William ULYATE, Gentleman, of St.Mary Newington, Surrey dated 28 September 1807 can be downloaded from the National Archives.

According to The Settler Handbook Henry ULYATE travelled to the Cape with his wife Lucy and children Mary, Henry and Sarah. Also with him were his stepchildren Lucy, William and John FINAUGHTY.

It looks as if Lucy may still have been married to William FINAUGHTY when she had Henry's children, as they were baptised with the surname FINAUGHTY and the middle name ULYATE.

See Notes for Lucy FINAUGHTY
