'Gesneuwel in geveg teen Regeringstroepe' tydens Rebellie
Albert-silwermyn was op die plaas Roodepoortjie 250 JR, noord van Bronkhorstspruit. Die plaas het oorspronklik aan Christiaan Joubert, wat in 1892 die ZAR se minister van mynwese was, behoort.
Christiaan Hendrik Muller, gebore in 1865, was ’n Boeregeneraal in die Engelse Oorlog. Muller en sy kommando het die nag by die Albert-silwermyn oorgeslaap. Onder die aanwesiges was ook oud-genl. CE Fourie van Middelburg. Die volgende oggend, Donderdag 5 November, het die verkenners wat uitgestuur is, vertel dat regeringstroepe saamgetrek het op Roodepoort, ses myl nader aan die Premiermyn.Intussen het kol. Mentz klaar opdrag gegee dat sy troepe vir Muller en sy 150 man omsingel.
By die Albert-silwermyn het vier van die protesterendes gesneuwel: P.S. Barnard en H. Barnard (’n oom en broerskind); Frans Steenkamp; en J.G. Kloppers. Ses is ernstig gewond: ds. Herman Fourie; Mike Bredenkamp; F.J. Roos; C. Hatting; Danie Terblanche; en A.S. Kloppers.
