Additonal Information

This is pre 1820 information mainly taken from actual images of UK parish registers and other primary sources which I have personally researched. Further information about the settlers and their families once they reached the Cape can be found at https://www.1820settlers.com/

BAKER, Thomas - Extra Data

(member of BRADSHAW's Party)

National Archives, Kew, London

Baptisms, in Cam Congregational Chapel, Gloucestershire (RG8/12C)

Rachel daughter of Thomas BAKER and Esther his wife of the parish of Cam in the county of Gloucester was born the 20th October 1817 and baptised Nov 3rd 1817.

Enoch son of Thos. BAKER and Esther his wife of the parish of Cam in the county of Gloucester was born the 16th March 1819 and baptised the 12th December 1819.

These two children appear on the Settler Return but died just prior to sailing. If Esther's age in The Settler Handbook is correct (25) then it is unlikely that she is the mother of the older children.
