He emigrated as a single man, but his wife and children followed in 1826 with SHEPHERD's Party. William SHEPHERD's 1826 correspondence says that his wife was Jane (30) and the children were listed as Mary (16), Jane (14), John (13), Susannah (10) and William (8). Their address in 1826 was given as Chittlehampton, South Molton, Devon.
