Death Notice (Cape Archives) appears to say his father was John, but his marriage certificate says his father was Thomas. The DN says he returned to England to get married.

It is possible that George Dennis SCOTT was the son of John SCOTT of WILLSON's Party by his first wife, and that a mistake was made in the father's name on George's marriage certificate. John SCOTT was also a carpenter.
