pre 1820 Settler Correspondence before emigration

ALL the 1819 correspondence from CO48/41 through CO48/46 has been transcribed whether or not the writers emigrated to the Cape. Those written by people who did become settlers, as listed in "The Settler Handbook" by M.D. Nash (Chameleon Press 1987), are labelled 1820 Settler and the names of actual settlers in the text appear in red.

My Lord,

Having seen in the Sunday advertiser of the 18^th Inst. a letter purporting to be official from the office of the Secretary of State for the Colonial Department stating the conditions for which it is proposed to give encouragement to Emigration to the Cape of Good Hope and considering myself to be one of the descriptions of persons entitled to the benefit proposed I beg that I may be made acquainted with the necessary steps to be taken.

If necessary I can give respectable references. An answer is respectfully requested.
