My Lord,

Permit me to solicit the favour of being appointed one for the opening now making to the Cape of Good Hope.

Your petitioner further solicits your Lordship's indulgence of being favoured with the conditions (or plan) of such emigration, hoping it will suit the circumstances of a working man.

Your petitioner further states that as Agriculture is his pride, and emigration of little consequence (though he has no particular desire to leave his native country than the bettering the condition of his growing family) he hopes to be named as one to the Cape of Good Hope.

Should he be so favoured by your Lordship it will confer a lasting obligation on your petitioner
